A series of hands-on workshops and interactive demonstrations and talks will be held on the final weekend of Parrtjima from 19-21 April.

Engage and share in rare experiences from Aboriginal Australians including learning about traditional healing methods and the properties of bush medicine, sculpting a clay figure and sampling wild harvested bush tucker.

Speakers will share how bush foods support livelihoods and the continuation and connection to story and Country. Come join us and gain an insight into the ancient skills and knowledge of First Nations people that have been thousands of years in the making.

Talk, Touch and Learn with Veronica Perrule Dobson AM

Join Veronica Perrule Dobson AM, an Eastern Arrernte traditional owner, educator, author and ecologist, to see, touch and learn about the amazing bush food and its powerful properties.

Talk and Taste with Rayleen Brown

A celebrated chef and owner of Kungas can Cook, Rayleen is a Ngangiwumirr and Eastern Arrernte woman. In this workshop Rayleen will teach you about about bush foods and give you the opportunity to taste some, too.

Hands on Workshop with Hermannsburg Potters

Join the Hermannsburg Potters for a workshop on telling stories through clay. Hear about the processes involved in creating the iconic hand-crafted Hermannsburg pots and learn to sculpt a clay figure of your own. Immerse your hands in clay and listen to stories from the artists.

Talk, Touch and Learn: Bush medicine with Akeyulerre

Come along to this transformative workshop with Akeyulerre, affectionately known as the ‘healing centre’.  Talk, touch and learn from the Elders as they share their knowledge about the power of bush medicine.

Join the experts from Ltyentye Apurte for a workshop on traditional indigenous craft. Learn about their locally sourced wood and culture, while spending time with some of the craftspeople themselves.
