Bush Medicine Workshop with Akeyulerre Healing Centre

Wednesday 15 April, 7.30pm

Bush Medicine Making with Akeyulerre Healing Centre is a hands-on workshop grounded in the knowledge systems of Arrernte people and shaped in response to Parrtjima’s 2026 theme of Language. The session invites participants into the living practice of bush medicine, where plants, process and cultural knowledge come together through making.

Participants will observe and take part in the preparation of bush medicines, including the grinding process, while learning about the history, collection and uses of different native plants. Along the way, the session offers insight into the distinctions between key bush medicines and the cultural knowledge held within them. Healing cards provided by Akeyulerre further enrich the experience, creating space for deeper understanding and reflection. Warm, participatory and grounded in community knowledge, the workshop offers an opportunity to connect with Arrernte healing practices through listening, learning and doing.
