Friday 10, Saturday 11, Thursday 16, Friday 17, Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April 7:15pm & 7.45pm
Offers visitors a unique opportunity to sit with artists and explore the significance of markings in sand. From animal footprints to skin groups, glowing lightboxes illuminate the cultural practices and stories held within these forms, offering a hands-on connection to traditions that continue to shape contemporary Aboriginal art.
On selected evenings, some of the festival’s featured installation artists and respected elders will be alongside participants to share stories of their Country through drawing directly into the sand. These intimate gatherings offer visitors the chance to hear more about the stories, art practice and thinking behind their installations, creating a space for conversation, reflection and deeper understanding.
