COMEDY UNDER THE STARS WITH SEAN CHOOLBURRA
April 10 @ 8:30 pm - 9:00 pm

Known for his wit, energetic delivery, and non-stop dance moves, Sean Choolburra is referred to as “The Godfather of Indigenous Comedy.” Recognised as one of Australia’s funniest and most versatile Aboriginal comedians, his recent work includes hosting his own TV series, Express Yourself on NITV, and guest roles on ABC’s Play School and the children’s television program Bluey. More recent credits include roles in Black Comedy on ABC and the soon-to-be-released feature film The Furnace.
A proud Gu-Gu-Yalanji, Kalkadoon, Kandju, and Bwgcolman man from Townsville, his comedy draws from a lifetime of experiences, stories, and observations. Starting out as a professional dancer with Bangarra Dance Company, Sean’s comedy career kicked off in 2002 when he represented NSW in the Raw Comedy National Grand Final. He has appeared on The Footy Show, Thank God You’re Here, and In the Frame with Rhoda Roberts, and has performed at the Adelaide Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival Roadshow, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s Deadly Funny.
